WITH the news that one of the biggest carnivals in Hampshire has been cancelled for the second year due to the pandemic, the Echo looks back at pictures through the years.
One of the county’s oldest events of its kind, the Totton and Eling Carnival usually attracts thousands of revellers as they turn out to watch a colourful collection of floats make its way though the streets.
Totton College, which has sponsored the annual crowd-pleaser since 2017, is due to be backing it until at least 2022.
The carnival usually begins at Eling Recreation Ground where they have stalls, arena displays and bands.
The procession ordinarily ends up at the recreation ground later in the day.
