PLANS to install eight security lights at a former turkey farm in the New Forest National Park have been given the go-ahead.

The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) has approved an application relating to a site at Barrows Lane, Sway.

A report to members said: "The former Arnewood Court Turkey Farm comprises a collection of buildings which have recently been upgraded.

"This application is for the erection of eight security lights throughout the site.

"It is acknowledged that the site lies away from any significant level

of built development and therefore is within a relatively dark area.

"However, the site is now used for employment purposes and it would seem

appropriate to permit some lighting for employees and visitors,

and also to provide some security.

"The design of the lighting is such that beams would be directed downwards to illuminate doorways, rather than cast a wide arc."
