PLANS to extend an outbuilding in the New Forest National Park have been thrown out.
The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) has refused an application relating to Little Pond Cottage in Bisterne Close, Burley.
The applicant had sought consent for an extension to an outbuilding to provide additional habitable floorspace.
A report to NPA members it was important to resist the cumulative effect of significant enlargements to rural homes.
It added: "This proposal, taking into account previous enlargements to the habitable accommodation on site, would result in a dwelling which is unacceptably large in relation to the original dwelling.
"The development would add significantly to the scale and size of the outbuilding."
