PLANNING chiefs have rejected a proposal to build a three-bedroom bungalow in the garden of an existing property.
New Forest District Council (NFDC) has refused an application relating to a plot of land at Knowland Drive, Milford on Sea.
Milford Parish Council had lodged an objection to the proposal, saying it amounted to overdevelopment.
A report to district councillors said: "The rear garden for the proposed dwelling would be extremely shallow and small, in marked contrast to the pattern of development locally.
"The development would fail to preserve the character of the area, would result in a loss of privacy to adjoining occupiers, and would provide a poor level of amenity space to future occupiers."
