HAMPSHIRE residents are being invited to sign up and Walk for Parkinson's to help raise funds.
Charity, Parkinson's Uk has launched its annual Walk for Parkinson's initiative after last years event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
This year's event features organised walks across the UK as well as virtual walking challenges and includes one walk that is due to take place in Bolderwood in the New Forest on October 3.
With participants given the choice of taking on a two mile or seven mile walk, money raised from the walk and others across the country will go to helping transform the way Parkinson’s UK provides information and support to people with Parkinson’s.
Ann Rowe, Head of Regional Fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said: “Last year there was so much we couldn’t do, and living in lockdown was difficult and lonely for many of us. For many people with Parkinson’s, their symptoms got worse. This year, we need each other more than ever.
“Taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s in 2021 is a chance to get outside, connect with the Parkinson’s community and make a difference. By walking together, either in person or virtually, we’re not alone.”
