A VAN driver remains in a serious condition after their vehicle overturned on a busy motorway.
The westbound carriageway of the M27 where it connects with the M3 was closed yesterday following the incident.
Police have today confirmed the driver, who sustained serious injuries, remains in hospital.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "They remain in hospital at this time in a serious condition.
"We continue to investigate what happened."
One witness said other motorists smashed the window of the van to get to the occupant, and that an air ambulance arrived at the scene.
Part of the eastbound M27 at Chilworth was shut earlier that morning after a car transporter went up in flames at around 7am.
