POLICE cordoned off a Hampshire street following the discovery of a man's body.
The emergency services were called to Popes Lane, Totton, after the body of a 36-year-old man was found just after 7am on Thursday.
Paramedics responded along with police but the man was found to have died at the scene.
Hampshire Constabulary say his death is not being treated suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to Popes Lane at 7.07 this morning following the discovery of a man’s body.
“A 36-year-old man was sadly declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
One witness is reported to have seen two police cars and an ambulance in Popes Lane, with a police officer standing guard in the street.
