INVESTIGATORS looking into a non-recent case of sexual abuse are appealing to Southampton residents for some "very specific information".

The investigation team need to obtain details of when a ‘kick-wall’ was removed from an area of wasteland between Conifer Road and Palm Road in Coxford.

It is believed the wall was removed in the 1990s, but the exact time of when the wall was removed is vital to the investigation.

Police staff investigator Keely Osborne said: “From records, we have established that the wall was put up in 1979 and we believe it was removed in the 1990s, however the exact time it was taken down is a key to our investigation and it has not been recorded anywhere.

“We know the wall was used by children to play football against.

"Those children would now be grown up and may have moved out of the area.

"We have conducted house to house enquiries and gone through archive records to ascertain the date however we have not been able to pin down when it was removed.

“We know this sounds like quite an odd request however the information could prove really valuable to our case. If you can help, please get in touch.”
