A PROPOSAL to build a two-bedroom bungalow and garage beside an existing property has been turned down.
New Forest District Council has rejected an application relating to a property called Sattva in Park Lane, Marchwood.
A council report said minor amendments had been made to a previous proposal.
But it added: "It is considered the proposed sub-division of the existing garden curtilage of Sattva would result in an awkward and unduly cramped form of development.
"The proposed bungalow and garage would be particularly conspicuous in views within the street scene and would significantly and unduly erode the existing feeling of spaciousness and openness in this location, to the detriment of the existing character of the area."
