PLANS to build an equestrian building in the New Forest National Park have been given the go-ahead.
The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) has approved an application relating to a parcel of land next to the Cadnam River at Cadnam Lane, Cadnam.
An NPA report said: "This application seeks consent for a stable block located in the northern corner of the site.
"Policy DP52 of the Local Plan seeks to ensure that stables are sensitively sited and unobtrusive in the landscape, simple in appearance, modest in scale, and constructed of appropriate
materials.
"The proposal would be sensitively sited, simple and modest in appearance and constructed of appropriate materials.
"The building would provide one stable, along with an open-fronted shelter and a hay store, contained with an area of land amounting to 1.45 hectares.
"The use would therefore not be overly intensive and is unlikely to lead to a harmful level of overgrazing."
