A PROPOSAL to build three houses behind an existing property has been rejected for the second time.

The applicants lodged an appeal after New Forest District Council refused an application relating to green belt land at Ashley Lane, Hordle.

But government-appointed planning inspector Hollie Nicholls has dismissed the appeal.

Her report said the proposed new dwellings would damage the openness of the green belt.

The report referred to the "limited" number of public viewpoints from which the reduced openness would be visible but said the site would be "noticeably urbanised" compared to existing views from neighbouring land.

"The proposal would represent inappropriate development in the green belt and would harm its openness," it said.
