A COLLEGE teacher has raised more than £500 to help efforts towards breast cancer prevention.

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College subject lead for Textiles, Lorna Miller, raised the money by completing a five-hour running challenge on March 9.

Raising over £500 for Prevent Breast Cancer, the subject leader rowed a total of 54.1 kilometres on a Concept 2 indoor rowing machine in the College’s gym.

This comes after she raised money for Cancer Research UK in 2020 by using Battle Ropes continuously for one hour.

Lorna Miller said: “I set myself a physical endurance challenge to use the bit of fitness I have to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer, the charity solely dedicated to predicting, preventing and protecting our future generations from breast cancer.

“I’m glad to finally get off the Concept 2, grateful for all the support and belief friends, family and my students had in me to do it, it’s what kept me digging deep to keep going. Looking forward to finding another challenge!”
