A BENCH that people can use to charge their phone has been vandalised.
A "smart bench" was installed in Latham Road in Fair Oak at the beginning of March.
The public seat is kitted out with solar panels meaning people can charge their phones.
Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council has since revealed that the bench outside the library was smashed by vandals on Thursday.

It has been cordoned off and will be made safe as a "matter of urgency", according to the council.
The aim of the bench was to provide an easy and accessible way for people to charge their phone whilst out and about.
Hampshire Constabulary say they received "no reported incidents of this nature."
