A busy Southampton road is now clear following a fire in a derelict building.
Firefighters were called out to Portsmouth Road just before 7am today (Thursday April 21) after a blaze broke out in the basement of a boarded-up building next to Pixies Tree Day Nursery.
Four fire engines and around 10 firefighters tackled the small fire in what used to be a care home.
They were at the scene for little over two hours.
Traffic queues started to form as emergency services dealt with the incident, with motorists being urged to avoid the area.
Now, firefighters have been stood down and the traffic is moving freely.
