A MAN who used a large metal pole to break into a van has been arrested on suspicion of theft.
Officers were called in the early hours of Friday morning to reports a man could be seen on CCTV breaking into a white van in Dorset Street.

The 39-year-old man from Southampton was apprehended by police who spotted his feet "dangling out of the back of the vehicle."
The metal pole was seized by officers and the man remains in police custody at this time.
