TOMORROW is a special day for Southampton and residents are being urged to shout about it.

On Tuesday, May 24, BBC One's The One Show is set to highlight the city ahead of the UK City of Culture 2025 winner being revealed.

Residents across the city are being urged to make as much noise as possible and take part in a social media shout-out.

The department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, which runs the City of Culture competition, will be celebrating via its social media channels.

People are being urged to join in by sharing messages of support and posting pictures or videos of their favourite places in the city.

The team has also come up with a hand sign that people can do when posing for pictures.

Make the S and/or an O with your hands and share it on your socials using the hashtags #MakeitSO #CityofCulture2025 #DCMS.

Southampton is set to appear on The One Show alongside fellow City of Culture finalists Bradford, County Durham and Wrexham County Borough.

A decision on which area will be crowned UK City of Culture 2025 will be made by the end of the month.
