A FIRE at a school building is being treated as suspicious, according to police.
An investigation has been launched after a fire tore through a derelict building at Brune Park Community School.
Firefighters from across Hampshire were scrambled to tackle the blaze at the site in Military Road in Gosport.
Police have now confirmed the incident is being viewed as suspicious and are urging people to help with their investigation.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted following reports of smoke coming from the building at around 6pm on Saturday.
Gosport, Fareham and Portchester Fire Stations all had engines involved in the operation.
Meanwhile, relief crews were sent from Wickham, Hightown and Havant Fire Stations.
The stop message came in at around 9.30pm on Saturday, however, investigations mean that emergency services have been in the area today.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
