AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a man who died after a lorry crash in Eastleigh.

Harrison Nathan Cross, of Fair Oak Road, Bishopstoke, died on June 7 at Southampton General Hospital.

Assistant coroner Darren Stewart said that Harry, 26, died after his vehicle collided with a lorry at the roundabout of Romsey Road.

Mr Stewart adjourned the inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court. A full inquest will be held on March 9.

Hundreds of car enthusiasts held a car meet in his honour on Saturday, with a convoy passing his home.

Fireworks and smoke bombs were let off as part of the memorial.

Police said they arrested a man in relation to an assault during the car meet. This was one of three assaults reported.

His family previously paid tribute to Harry.

They said: "He was the kindest son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to all who knew him.

"Taken far too young and he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

"We will move forward with sadness of the memories we will not get to make, but cherish and smile looking back at the ones we did."

Anyone with information about the crash should call 101.
