AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into reports of lasers being shone at boats near Southampton.
Hampshire Police's Marine Support Unit shared the news on social media saying reports of these incidents had been reported in Southampton Water.
In a post, the unit added that their enquires had resulted in a "positive lead".

It comes as last year police said they were investigating a number of incidents where laser pens had been shone at ships.
One ship was described as a cruise liner and another, a container ship.
A spokesperson for the force said at the time: "Not only is this dangerous but the offence carries a penalty of up to five years in prison."
