THE mother of a missing Southampton woman has marked her birthday by revealing how much she longs to hold her.

Former flight attendant Sarm Heslop - 43 today - has not been seen since March last year, when she vanished after a night out in the US Virgin Islands with her American boyfriend.

Her mother, Brenda Street, said: "I need to know what happened to Sarm, find her, and bring her home."

Asked what might have happened to her daughter she said: "I don't know and I don't think we will find out anytime soon.

"I'm taking one day at a time. I think about her every waking moment."

Describing Sarm as "engaging, loyal and passionate", Brenda said: "I miss everything about my beautiful daughter and I'm devastated I can't talk to her or hold her and tell her I love her."

Brenda also spoke about the time before Sarm's disappearance.

She said: "We laughed a lot and had the most wonderful mother/daughter relationship." Asked about her opinion of Sarm's boyfriend, Ryan Bane, she added: "I don't have one."
