THE company that organises the ABP Southampton Marathon is celebrating the success of a 15-year partnership.

Rees Leisure, which is busy preparing for this year's marathon on April 2, will continue to be sponsored by the Hendy Group.

Mark Busby, the Hendy Group's commercial director, said the past 15 years had seen tremendous growth for both organisations.

The automotive group had expanded its presence in the south and Rees Leisure had added more events to its portfolio.

Mark said: "Our first sponsorship was supporting the Wessex Swim School, one of the key areas of business for Rees Leisure at the time.

"Each year Chris Rees and the team have expanded its programme for those looking to take part in sporting events and over the years we have increased our support to include running, triathlon and cycling events."

Hendy Group is continuing as official transport partner to Rees Leisure, supporting a wide range of events including the marathon, Winchester Marafun, and the Southampton Sporterium.

Mark said: "The range of events provides us with an ideal opportunity to showcase our own brands to thousands of people in the heart of where Hendy Group operates.

"Competitors, their supporters and spectators will see a range of our cars at events and the enthusiastic nature and proactive approach of Rees Leisure is a perfect fit for Hendy Group."

For Rees Leisure, the support of Hendy Group means the team has use of a branded car and support of one of the largest names in the south.

Chris rees said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Hendy Group for the 2023 events season and thrilled to be working with the business for another year.

"The relationship between Hendy and Rees Leisure is now 15 years strong and we can't wait to see what this year brings. Huge thank you for Hendy Group’s continued support as our official transport partner."
