A MAN found hiding on scaffolding was arrested by police investigating reports of a domestic incident.
Officers took to social media to offer "good news and reassurance" after being called to the Thornhill area on Saturday evening.
They said they went to an address at around 5pm but the person they wanted to speak to had left the scene.
"With the local knowledge of neighbourhood officers, we attended addresses the suspect had links to and he was subsequently located. However, they thought it was a good idea to play a little game of hide and seek with officers after a short foot chase.
"But thanks to our determination and vigilance, we located them trying to hide on some scaffolding. Again, they tried running off and into the local pub, assuming not for a pint.
"They were arrested for a number of offences including public order offences towards colleagues.
"They remain in custody at this time assisting with our enquiries."
Hampshire police has been contacted for more details.
