The family of a dedicated mental health doctor who died in a crash on the Marchwood bypass has said he had an "unwavering commitment" to patients. 

Mental health expert Dr Guy Powell, 68, from Salisbury died at the scene of the crash on March 6.

The incident happened before 7pm and involved a pedestrian and two vehicles.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Guy's family said: "Guy was a dedicated and loving husband and father.

"He had an unwavering commitment to helping patients with their mental health issues."

Officers continue to investigate this incident and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have seen someone waiting to cross the road at the location.

Officers would also like to speak to anyone who may have been passing through the area between 6.45pm and 6.55pm who has a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle.
