A trio of cats are being overlooked in a search for forever homes because of their age.

Three ‘oldies’ at St Francis Animal Welfare are desperate to live out their golden years with a loving family.

Bethany, 10, Cody, eight, and Dude, 11, are ‘starting to thrive again’ after a shy start at the Fair Oak shelter.

Staff at the shelter are keen for the trio to each find a happy ending.

Once you have established trust, Bethany is very friendly and affectionate and would be ideal for a quieter adult home.

Cody would also appreciate a quitter home, although he likes his treats and is often found greeting his visitors.

And a sunny garden would be the icing on the cake for him.

Dude is described as another friendly cat who loves both his food and the outdoors.

He is more suited to an experienced cat owner but undoubtedly has so much to give back.

A spokesperson said: “St Francis Animal Welfare has a wonderful track record of rehoming their animals, but ask any member of staff and they will all say the same thing – it is too often the older generation of animal will get overlooked far too easily, when they have so much to offer their new home.

“As with their human counterparts, with age comes a life story, wisdom and just as important the personal characteristics that define them.

“For example, you will still find the explorers, those that spend much of their time outside, and equally the settlers who are just as content enjoying the comfort of the settee and the company of a loving owner.

“If you think you could offer a loving home to any of this trio, then get in touch with St Francis to discuss the possibilities and see the potential of these cats for yourself.”
