The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

ALES HAJEK, 28, of Whites Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified on Millbank Street. He also admitted to taking a motor vehicle without consent in Waterlooville. Hajek was jailed for 18 weeks and received six points on his licence. He must also pay £267 in compensation and a £156 surcharge. 

THOMAS CURRAN, 31, of Millbrook Road West, Southampton admitted a single count of assault by beating. He was given a 10-week sentence suspended for 18 months with 25 days of rehabilitation activity. Curren was made the subject of a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim. This will run until March 26, 2025. He was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £128 surcharge.

HENOK BEYENE, 38, of Golden Grove, Southampton pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a controlled drug of Class A, namely heroin and crack cocaine. He also admitted theft from a shop after taking Monterrain trousers and a hoodie worth £255.96 from a shop on Above Bar Street. He was given a community order until March 26, 2025, with 35 days of rehabilitation activity. Beyene must pay £85 in court costs.

ROXICIA MCMULLAN, 32, of The Compass, Southampton admitted driving without a licence whilst behind the wheel of an Audi A3 on West Quay Road. She also admitted theft in that she stole bottles of wine belonging to the Leonardo Royal Hotel. McMullan was given a one-year community order with an alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement. She must also complete 20 rehabilitation days and pay £85 towards court costs.

ROBERT VAN RENSBURG, 40, of Rydal Close, Bordon pleaded guilty to drink driving on Thomas Lewis Way, Southampton. He was found to have 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Rensburg was disqualified for 16 months and fined £120. He must pay court costs of £85 plus a £48 surcharge.
