The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

RICHARD BREW, 38, of Northwick Avenue, Harrow pleaded guilty to failing or refusing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test in Southampton. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay court costs of £40 plus a £48 surcharge. 

PETER WARD, 24, of Alfriston Gardens, Southampton admitted drink driving on the M27 near Southampton. He was caught with 131 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood. Ward was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He must also pay court costs of £85 and a £48 surcharge. 

LUCINDA LORD, 63, of Brabazon Drive, Christchurch pleaded guilty to drink driving on the M271 in Southampton. She was caught with 234 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood whilst driving a Citroen Berlingo van. Lord was given a one-year community order with 10 rehabilitation days and 60 hours of unpaid work. Lord was also disqualified from driving for 24 months and must pay £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge.

CHARLES JENKYN, 44, of Shears Road, Bishopstoke admitted drink driving on Dartington Road in Eastleigh. He was behind the wheel of an Audi A3 when he was found to have 139 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Jenkyn was banned from driving for 60 months and jailed for 10 weeks. He must pay a £154 surcharge. 

BEN NELSON, 22, of Days Inn, Shroner Wood, Hampshire pleaded guilty to two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke violence in North Close, Lymington. The sentencing was adjourned until October 16 at the same court.

CAMERON COLE, 24, of Tennyson Road, Portswood was found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Southampton. He was given a one-year community order with 12 days of rehabilitation activity. Cole must pay compensation of £400 and £100 court costs. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim until September 27, 2025.
