Plans to upgrade a New Forest golf course by providing a new training facility have been given the green light.

The New Forest National Park Authority has approved an application to extend the clubhouse at Bramshaw Golf Course at Lyndhurst Road in Brook.

Brook Enterprises has been told it can replace a timber shed with a golf simulator room.

The application said the proposed development was part of a plan to improve facilities at the course, which changed hands in 2022.

It added: "The applicant has embarked on a programme of significant investment at the club.

"The provision of a modern simulator room is a key feature because it provides a training facility, particularly useful when the weather is poor and when the hours of daylight are restricted, but also as a means of analysing and correcting golf action (swing) all year round."

The National Park Authority has approved the proposal, subject to conditions.

Its report said: "Although the proposed extension would increase the overall bulk of the building, particularly in combination with the previous permission, it would appear proportionate and subservient in scale."
