A Southampton woman has been arrested after bolt cutters and an angle grinder were found in a parked car. 

The 22-year-old woman from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary after the items were found in a silver BMW. 

Police had initially been called to Fernhill Road in Farnborough to reports of two suspicious men attempting to gain entry to a vehicle.

They attended the scene at around 12.30am but the two men were not located. 

Nothing was reported stolen. 

Gloves, wires and cables were also found in the car when police noticed a woman parked up nearby. 

The 22-year-old has now been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
