A twelfth person has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a 22-year-old in Gosport.

Police investigating Levi Kent's death arrested a 63-year-old man this weekend on suspicion of assisting an offender.

He has been bailed with conditions until March 17.

Levi was seriously assaulted in Keyes Road in Bridgemary in the early hours of Friday November 24 and later died from his injuries.

In a tribute posted online, his mum Tammy Webb said her family had been "ripped to pieces".

Seven due in court

Seven people have been charged as part of the investigation.

Gosport pair Tommy West, 18, of Fisgard Road and Aiden West, 24, of Tudor Close have been charged with murder, robbery and possession of a bladed article.

Sarah Flynn, 35, of James Close in Gosport has been charged with assisting an offender.

Joanne West, 45, of no fixed abode has been charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

They are due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on January 10.

Peter West, 42, of Fisgard Road and Liam Savage, 37, of Trinity Green have been charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

Mark Phillips, 56, of Gilbert Close in Gosport has been charged with perverting the course of justice – namely providing a statement to police that is alleged to have been false.

They are due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on January 15.

Other arrests

A 19-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday November 24. He has been released on police bail until February 24.

A 67-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released on police bail until February 25.

A 22-year-old man from Fareham was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been released on police bail until February 25.

A 35-year-old man from Fareham arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender been released without charge.
