A driver has been banned after he was caught speeding on the same stretch of road four times in just two weeks. 

Romario Ana has had his licence taken away for six months after he was caught by an automatic speed camera on the M3 last February. 

Southampton Magistrates' Court heard Ana was caught speeding at 66mph between junctions ten and nine on February 4.

A 50mph variable speed limit was in place at the time. 

Six days later he was caught again in the same spot at 63mph. 

On February 12 he was caught at 65mph and four days later he was clocked at 61mph. 

In all of the offences, he was heading northbound in a Ford Mondeo.

Ana, 30, of Warren Avenue, Southampton pleaded guilty to four counts of exceeding a variable speed limit. 

He was banned from driving for six months and received 13 points on his licence. 

He was ordered to pay a £233 fine, court costs of £110 and a £93 surcharge by February 15.
