Detective Inspector Emma Barrow said: “The information we have to date suggests the fire was a deliberate action and that one of the vehicles was intentionally set alight.

“It appears the fire has then subsequently spread to the other four vehicles.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in or around the area of Drum Road in the early hours of Monday morning, particularly between 4am and 5am.

“We are also very keen to hear from anyone who saw two individuals running from the scene shortly after the fire started.

“We’d like to reassure the public that we do not believe there to be any ongoing wider threat to the community.

“Officers will continue to complete reassurance patrols in the area over the coming days, and will be on hand to speak to those living nearby and answer any questions you may have."
