The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates Court:
GAVIN MACEY, 42, of no fixed address, admitted stealing whiskey and chocolate valued at £186.25 from Sainsbury's at Bitterne Precinct on June 20 2026. Also admitted stealing chocolate valued at £87.50 from Sainsbury's on June 13 2026. Also admitted stealing chocolate valued at £53.75 from Sainsbury's on June 17 2026. Also admitted stealing items valued at £5.85 from Sainsbury's on June 16 2026. Also admitted stealing cosmetics valued at £79.95 from Superdrug in Southampton on July 28 2026. Bailed until September 22 2026.
ROBERT MILLER, 33, of Ringwood Road, Totton, admitted using violence to secure entry to premises at Carpenter Close, Hythe. Also admitted damaging a front door, assaulting an emergency worker, and two counts of assaulting a police officer. Offences were committed on June 6 2026. Received 18-month community order, including requirement to attend 30 days of rehabilitation activity. Also handed restraining order. Fined £100 with £85 costs.
DARREN COOPER, 46, of West Cliff Road, Bournemouth, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm at Hythe on June 15 2024. Bailed until August 18 2026.
ANDREW MCALLISTER, 53, of no fixed address, found guilty of drink driving at Holbury on April 10 2025. The defendant had 81 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. Bailed until September 15 2026.

SHAUN BOWERS, 31, of Westridge Road, Southampton, admitted stealing goods valued at £164.97 from Savers at Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton. Also admitted stealing detergent valued at £43.46 from Savers. Also admitted stealing DVDs and a bag, together valued at £500, from HMV in High Street, Southampton. Offences were committed on June 26 2026. Two-year conditional discharge. No order for costs.
MATTHEW WALLINGFORD, 31, of Tennyson Road, Southampton, admitted possessing controlled Class B drug (cannabis) in Southampton on July 28 2026. Bailed until October 12 2027.
GEVAUGHN SCALE, 22, of Cooke Street, Barking, Essex, admitted failing to provide specimen of blood for laboratory test in Southampton on June 8 2025. Banned from driving for 12 months and fined £270 with £400 costs and £108 victim services surcharge.
