CIVIC chiefs have rejected an "unneighbourly" application to enlarge a semi-detached house in a Hampshire town.

New Forest District Council had refused an application relating to a property at Belmore Lane in Lymington.

The proposal had sparked eight letters of objection from people living in the area.

A report to councillors said the scheme comprised a two-storey side and rear extension, plus a single-storey extension across the full width of the rear elevation.

The report said the proposed development would have a significant and harmful impact on the amenities of people living in a neighbouring property.

It added: "The proposals represent an unneighbourly and harmful form of development."
