Hampshire are set to face Test legend Ricky Ponting twice this summer after the former Australia captain agreed a two-month deal with Surrey.
The 38-year-old has been signed to replace Graeme Smith during the eight weeks the South Africa skipper is expected to play in the Champions Trophy.
Ponting, who retired from international cricket in December, will be available in all formats in June and July.
Hampshire begin the defence of their T20 title against Surrey under the Ageas Bowl floodlights on Wednesday, June 26 and play the return fixture at The Oval on Friday, July 19.
