PLANS by Cranbourne Homes to build an extension on to an existing house in St James Road, Shirley, Southampton, to create two flats have been rejected. Planners ruled the scheme may have led to highway safety issues and had a harmful impact on the area’s appearance.

They were rejected for very good reason! The house was one of a pair of Victorian semi-detached houses and the plans were to build on most of the garden creating an eyesore, changing the appearance of the area and leaving the house with no garden all for the sake of fitting more tenants in. Terrible overdevelopment.
