DOZENS of mourners attended the funeral of Sir David Price.

Sir David, pictured, who was Tory MP for Eastleigh from 1955 to 1992, died last month, aged 89, after a lifetime of public service.

His funeral was held at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Hythe, where he was a regular worshipper.

The hourlong service was conducted by Father David Adams, who described Sir David as a much-loved man and a devoted father.

He also praised the way Sir David had cared for his disabled wife Rosemary, who died in 2006.

Mourners were led by Sir David’s daughter, Arabella.

Cllr Malcolm Cross, the Mayor of Eastleigh, was also in attendance.

The funeral was followed by a private burial service at Beaulieu Cemetery.
