Vision of the future for city district
The future of a city neighbourhood earmarked for redevelopment will be unveiled today.
An exhibition and presentation of the plans for the future of the Woolston district in Southampton will be on display from 10am to 7pm at St Mark’s Institute, in Victoria Road.
The latest designs, developed after a previous round of consultation, include a one-way system in Victoria Road and Keswick Road, play space provision, and finding the right location for it within the scheme and Victoria Road improvements – new trees, street furniture, traffic calming and safer crossing points.
There is also improved traffic calming on Obelisk Road and footway improvements at the bus station area and Portsmouth Road.
