I support sotonboy84 and all those people who believe it is wrong to sell off artefacts associated with our history. As the expression tends to go : He/she who forgets their past, has no future.

Thank you. And thumbs down for my original post - probably by the same people that complain the city is rubbish then when you try to do something proactive they're still unhappy!

The collection is a huge asset to the people of Southampton, & beyond in terms of its historical,cultural & educational value & if used properly could be a huge tourist attraction.
