IT was third time lucky for TV talent show veteran Eva Iglesias from Southampton in her bid to become a star.

Millions of viewers watched the supermarket worker, who has already been rejected by The Voice and The X Factor, amaze judges on ITV's Britain's Got Talent last night.

She told Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams that she was putting recent heartbreak behind her to sing a version of Carole King's (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.

She said: ''I was that close to not coming today. My heart was broken this week by the person that I love. They just didn't want to love me anymore.''

The 40-year-old, who works as a supermarket personal shopper, said she was ready to swap shelves for the stage.

She said: ''It's a fun job but if I could sing full-time without working in a supermarket it would be out of this world.

''I've auditioned a lot of times over the years and if you want something and you want to go and get it then you'll get it. You have just have to believe in yourself''.

The singer impressed the judges with Simon Cowell telling her: ''You came out here and that is one of the most beautiful songs of all time, written by Carole King, and her heart was broken when she wrote that song. I understand why you were giving it what you gave it.''

All four judges gave her a "Yes" to put her through to the next stage of the competition.

By co-incidence I only saw one act last night and it was this lady. That was one awesome audition - she absolutely nailed it last night! A brilliant performance!

I thought Eva was fantastic! She really could win this series. I can't wait to hear her next song. So glad she's put Southampton on the Britain's Got Talent map.

You clearly didn't watch it then, she didn't lead with the sob story. She led with a phenomenal rendition of a massive song - showing talent for singing.

You don't have to read these stories you know. You can just skim past them.

I hear the young lad with curly hair was by far the most talented and easily the best looking of the group. #BringBackPhase3

I don't know about that, but the tall lanky one was by far the worst... He was way too agressive and didn't seem to know what he was doing.... It looked to me like the other band members seemed to dislike him, the audience certainly did
