ONE hundred youngsters and their families have netted more than £500 for charity in a crabbing contest.
They were on the jetty behind the River Hamble Harbour Master’s office in Warsash for the sixth annual crabbing competition to fundraise for Meningitis Now.
Those taking part put their crab catching skills to the test, with a prize for the highest number of crustaceans caught. All crabs were released back into the water.
Reuben Weal, aged eight, from Swanwick, was crowned overall winner.
