An investigation has been launched in Hampshire after a taxi driver launched a road rage attack on a woman moped rider.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the attack after which the moped rider was taken to hospital with neck injuries.
It happened when the woman, aged in her 40s, was riding her moped along Havant Road in the direction of Emsworth town centre between 3.45pm and 4pm on July 2.
Enquiries are continuing into a report of a man, driving a red Peugeot taxi, who left his vehicle and assaulted the woman moments after an argument and collision.
Investigating officer PC Gareth Davies said: “This was an unprovoked violent attack on an innocent member of the public. We are appealling for witnesses to what happened.”
Witnesses to the assault or anyone with information are asked to contact Havant Police Station by phoning 101. Mini-com users can phone 18001 101.
Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
