A MAN was pushed off a wall and robbed near a busy Hampshire supermarket.

Police are appealing for information after a 53-year-old man, who was sat on a low wall at the junction of Attwood Close and Worting Road on January 2 between 3pm and 5pm, was approached by two men he did not know.

The attackers pushed the victim off the wall, held him down, and stole his wallet and some tobacco before leaving.

The first man is described as being white, in his early 30s, six feet two inches tall, of a stocky build, and clean shaven.

He was wearing light grey workmen's trousers, a blue pullover jumper, and brown working boots.

The second man is described as being white, in his late 20s, about six feet tall, of average build, and clean shaven.

He was wearing light grey workman's trousers, a dull green zip-up jacket with a hood, and trainers.

PC Simon Langford, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This took place near a busy supermarket and we believe there were a number of people in the area at the time.

“Did you see what happened? Do you remember seeing two men matching the descriptions given? Please call us if you do.”
