Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident on a Hampshire motorway.

A 23-year-old motorcyclist suffered a minor leg injury in a collision with a car at junction one of the M27 at Cadnam yesterday.

The female driver of the car checked that the man was all right but then drove off.

Police confirmed that officers were treating the incident as a failure to stop on the grounds that the motorist failed to give the motorcyclist her details.

She is described as white, aged in her early twenties, 5ft 7in with brown, shoulder-length hair. She was driving a silver-coloured Peugeot that is thought to have suffered front end damage in the collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which occurred at 12.45pm.
