A GANG burst into a house and threatened to pour boiing water over those inside.
Now, detectives are appealing for witnesses after a the ordeal.
A 44-year-old answered a knock at his door when he was confronted by five men and a woman who forced their way inside, hitting him with an item concealed in a plastic bag.
Once inside, one of the men boiled a kettle and threatened to pour the boiling water over the man and his friends who were also inside the house in Canterbury Avenue, Sholing.
Some of the group searched the home and forced the man to open a small safe.
They stole more than £1,000 in cash, two passports, an engagement ring and a Vivian Westwood Watch, before making their escape in a small blue hatchback.
