THE University of Southampton’s Students’ Union (SUSU) has bid farewell to its chief executive.

Jaki Booth has stepped down from the role after almost five years with the organisation.

She welcomed several projects during her time there, setting the union apart from others in the country, and most recently saw the organisation awarded the silver category following an Investors in People assessment.

The union is now in the stages of recruiting a new chief executive and head of membership and engagement.

Jaki said: “It has been my absolute privilege to work with the best officers in the land, supported by the most dedicated and talented staff. “The partnership between staff, students and the university makes life here so positive for everyone. “Everything that SUSU does makes me feel very proud to have been a part of it.

“I will miss you all and look forward to keeping an eye on everything you achieve in the future.”
