Royston re-elected as leader of Southampton Conservatives

Former city council boss Royston Smith has been re-elected leader of Southampton Conservatives.

Cllr Smith currently leader of the opposition at the council and party candidate for Itchen at next year’s general election, was unanimously selected at the party’s annual meeting.

Fellow councillor and former council children’s services chief Jeremy Moulton was also re-elected as deputy leader.

.. well fancy that. What a surprise.
Why it was only in January last year that the font of all local political knowledge, southy, was predicting that Jeremy Moulton was just about to replace Royston Smith as leader of the local Tories.
Surely, he didn't get that wrong, did he?
