CONGRATULATIONS Dr Colin Rawlins A former pupil of Eastleigh's North End Secondary School, Colin has recently been conferred with a Doctorate in Education. What makes Colin's achievement even more impressive is his non-academic background. After leaving school Colin worked in a book shop in Southampton, then as a laboratory technician in Southampton's LSU Teacher Training College, where he met his wife Julie. Colin also spent two years as a police constable in Romsey. In 1970 Colin studied for a BEd at King Alfred's College, Winchester. Colins outstanding career in education includes reaching the position of senior teacher, gaining a Master's Degree in Science Education, serving with the Suffolk Science Advisory Service, deputy head teacher of a primary school in Bury St Edmonds, OFSTED inspector and finally a primary school headmaster. Colin retired in 2006. Colin and Julie live in Suffolk and they have three children and six grandchildren. His whole family are very proud of him and congratulate him on his achievements.
