THE 50th anniversary of the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) will be celebrated at a show in Southampton this summer.
Commercial marine exhibition, Seawork, will mark the milestone with a special RIB display, when it returns to the city’s port in June.
The event will feature a 4m Avon Searider from the 1970s, plus a host of vintage outboards.
Among a number of other RIBs moored on the Seawork pontoons will be the 9.4m Zodiac Hurricane MACH II, on berth 17.
The three day event, which runs from June 25 to June 27, will also host a forum on health and safety issues with RIBs, led by power boating expert Dag Pike.
This year’s Seawork will feature a total of 500 exhibitors, 60 vessels and 7,000 commercial marine professionals from across the world.
