STUDENTS have a new way of finding their perfect pad – and they needn’t go further than their campus.

The University of Southampton’s Students’ Union has opened its own new letting agency to help those who felt they were being badly treated by landlords.

SUSU Lettings is now open for business after a campaign was carried out to find out what students thought about the lettings market.

The Vent about Your Rent campaign was held last year and found students felt they were being treated unfairly by letting agencies in Southampton.

The union says the agency hopes to provide services to cater for all landlords, and a “no let, no fee”

policy.

The agency will be located on the university’s campus.

Beckie Thomas, from SUSU, said: “After a rigorous planning process, we set up SUSU Lettings to provide students with better treatment, and the fairer deal that they deserve throughout the entire housing process.”
