A HAMPSHIRE highways team swapped the roads for the playground to help spruce up a Southampton school.
A team from Amey who provide highways maintenance services for Hampshire County Council visited Woolston Infant School.
They gave the playground and woodland area of the school in Florence Road a much-needed Spring clean, which included clearing brambles and weeds from the pond area and wildlife patch.
They also treated and stained log benches and fencing around the pond.
The day was part of the firm's commitment to supporting communities through a number of initiatives.
Headteacher at Woolston Infant School, Julie Swanston, said: “Thank you to everyone at Amey for giving up their time and working so hard to improve our woodland area.”
